About
Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my site. I have been asked about my logo time and time again. Since I cannot talk to you in person, I will do my best to explain here. When I was thirteen, I wanted to be a priest and I attended a weekend retreat at a local seminary. I learned two things that stayed with me until today. The first was that the Latin word for “peace” is PAX. For some reason this has always stuck with me. When I returned to pottery about 12 years ago, I found a great sense of peace when working with clay and I wanted to send a message out to the world, without using my voice. PAX is my message; we need more of it in our lives!
Oh, that’s right, the second reason! After painting and firing a mug for my dad, I thought how cool that was this. I fell in love with the creative process of glazing and firing. I also experience the feeling of giving something I made and seeing happiness in the receivers eye. Today, I see that with my customers, whether it is for themselves or a gift for someone special.
I had surgery in 2006, two lower vertebrae were fused together to stabilize my back. But I have refused to give up pottery. After surgery, it gave me a reason to get better and get moving again. However, I have had to change the way I work. No more lifting more than twenty pounds occasionally, or sitting for hours at the wheel. And the big one, I have learned to rely on other people to help me when I need it. A really big thank you to my wife and son.
Enjoy the site. I appreciate your comments, so feel free to use the feedback tab.
Take care,
